let me make this quick as i'm busy most of the day today. will be playing the pick 6 today with only one single.... here goes. my horses haven't been great prices of late, so let's try to mix in some longshots with the other legitimate contenders at lower mutuels.
r1: political rhetoric. i know- it's almost an autmatic play against- a horse making his return, dropping in class off a 9 month layoff without any speed sprinting. disaster huh? possibly. but i would play 'rhetoric if he's anywhere near 5/2 as he's much the best horse in here. nearly all the other horses will be in front of this one at the 3/8ths pole, but he should be flying at the wire. if he's the post time favorite, find a way to beat him.
r3: stormin home will win by 5 lengths. 3/5- means find your exacta partner, i nominate mister acpen over blue steller.
r5: fantastic spain. don't know if this one can win routing first time out and third half is CLEARLY the horse to beat in here, but this 1/2 to spain has been training well and should be a decent price in this field.
r6: princess v. not sure if we can beat santa catarina, but i'm going to back the fleet footed cal bred, princess v. on paper, thre looks like there will be about five horses all winging on the lead with a couple stretch out sprinters in the lineup. however, it looks like french has tried to get this one to relax in the mornings and maybe she can ration her speed a bit. her sire, memo, could route or sprint, and do it on any surface, so i'm thining 1 1/16th will be just about right for her. come on jose, rate her a bit!
r8: fleetstreet dancer. i'm going to try to beat western pride in here. he hasn't looked all that sharp since returning from maryland, and meets a solid bunch. kudos is the horse to beat, but he's never been that big on winning races. calkins road is the wacky upsetter, but he may need one after the layoff for shirreffs.
r9: judge's decision. here'a big longshot coming off a short layoff. don't know if he's fast enough, but think he'll put in a much improved performance for the corrales bunch in here with the addition of blinkers. had a sharp blowout on thursday and he should be much closer to the pace in here.
r10: ivan motley. the 4 yo has had a lot of chances and dollase doesn't have the best stats with these types of rturnees. however, with legitimate contenders like conquer the galaxy, ashoka, gakkel ridge, and freedom's key, i'll take a good price with the vastly underrated alex solis. he should have this one flying inside the final furlong. cross your fingers and hope he gets there; otherwise, one of the aforementioned quartet should win.
goodl luck.
